Michelle & Jon: Clarkston, Mi Wedding

This post is long overdue.  Jon & Michelle's wedding was my first at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club. The ceremony site looked over emerald grounds and a sparkling blue sky. The things I loved most about these two were Michelle's witty abbreviations and Jon's adoration for her. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the both of you.

Michelle's shout out to Kate Middleton.

Jon wrote Michelle a letter that she read the before getting dressed.

Stephen & Jill: Kalamazoo Wedding

What a gorgeous April day it was for a wedding. I was so blessed to photograph my uncle's special day. There were 7 people there altogether. You could see the love and adoration on their faces as they soaked in their wedded bliss. Warm, sweet, romantic perfection.

This guy has the coolest stories.

While visiting my brother in-law's newly purchased house I discovered a few gems. He laughed when I asked if I could have them and held them hostage in exchange for manual labor which I somehow managed to avoid. "Are you sure you don't want them for the baby's room? They would be really neat looking painted." I asked. The response was an obvious "no".  As they say one man's trash is another man's treasure. I had big plans for this treasure.  I love upcycling.

I started by coating them a few times with Krylon grey Indoor/Outdoor Primer and picked up yellow spray paint at the hardware store. There were a million colors but only two yellows. I wasn't too disappointed, this shade is perfect. I ended up with Valspar spray paint for metal. Caution to those out there who want to repeat, I had to layer about 8 coats before I got the shade and coverage I wanted.  There was a lot of fighting the falling tree debris but definitely a good idea to do this outside.

Tulips, Birthday Cake and Sewing Project #10!

My birthday was last month and with the warm weather I was able to rock my birthday skirt. But not like this. Can someone say teacher skirt?
Before
The first thing that needed to go was the length and quick.

Going....going...

Gone!

My hem was ironed and sewn.

I decided to use the additional fabric to make an infinity scarf. It was the perfect size.
