Anthropologie Lamp Copy Cat

So I found this amazing lamp at Anthropologie. One perk to living on the east side of the state is that the shops are way cooler... and more expensive. Needless to say I did not buy this lamp for $400 but it did spark some creativity to say the least.

***If you have never been to Anthropologie check it out!!!

I used my lamp base from CB2 and got a $7 lamp shade from IKEA (again east= way better shopping). I really didn't want to use the lamp shade it came with because if this project went south I just ruined a wedding present.

I found this 50 cent piece of gold at the salvation army. Nancy was the previous owner. My first clue was she scratched her name in pencil on the back cover.

I cut out and organized all the pieces into groups and grabbed the Mod Podge!

I brushed an even coat of Mod Podge on the shade before brushing the top of the paper piece to avoid curling and make sure they weren't going anywhere! I also used a brush from Ikea because it now resides in the trash.

After the shade was covered I applied 4 more coats of Mod Podge letting each coat dry before applying the next. Then as a last fire prevention method (I don't like fire in my apartment) I installed a 20 watt bulb and sprayed a clear matte moisture resistant coating since the Mod Podge is water-based. Finished!
   Some closeups....
Now, whomever had this book in school was probably bored, and circled random images and wrote "Anne".  Now I'm not going to make any assumptions but I'm guessing Anne wasn't a close friend.
Anne!
